India’s First Hyperloop to be developed from Vijayawada to Amaravati


Andhra Pradesh government plans to bring the fifth mode of transportation concept Hyperloop to connect the two cities Vijayawada to Amaravati and has signed a memorandum of understanding with HTT Inc for developing the project. If everything works out, this will be the first Hyperloop in the India.

Hyperloop India: California a western U.S – based research company Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc (HTT) has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the “Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board” (APEDB) on September 4th 2017 (Wednesday) for development of India’s First hyperloop project between Vijayawada and Andhra Pradesh’s capital Amaravati in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. This agreement makes the new transportation system in India.

According to the source during the first phase of the Hyperloop project, HTT Company will conduct a six-month feasibility study commencing in October and the company said “Working with partners in the public and private sector, HTT will examine the surrounding cityscapes to create the best route between the two cities, while identifying potential stakeholders in the region.”

At present, to travel from Vijayawada to Amaravati takes an hour. If Hyperloop project everything works out, it’s possible that the entire distance could be covered in 5 minutes in the coming days!

“We are extremely delighted to have entered into a MoU with the government of Andhra Pradesh to bring the HTT Hyperloop to India,” said Bibop Gresta, chairman and co-founder of HTT, in a statement. “In partnering with Andhra Pradesh, HTT will work with local stakeholders to build the regulatory standards necessary for safe and efficient operation.”

After Analyse Feasibility

After completing the feasibility study, in the second phase of the project, the company proposes to construct and build its first Hyperloop in India.

“The project will involve little over $200 million of investment and take a year or so to complete it once all the approvals and Right of Way were in place,” Krishna Kishore, chief executive of APEDB, source report from ET.

What is Hyperloop?

The Hyperloop is a new way of Transportation Technology to move people or things anywhere in the world quickly, safely, efficiently, on-demand and with minimal impact to the environment.

The system accelerates a passenger or cargo vehicle at airline speeds through a steel tube in near-vacuum using a linear electric motor.

“India is entering into a new era in terms of technology and our goal is to put India on the global map by developing and implementing green technologies, the first Hyperloop in Amravati,” said Aviruk Chakraborty, advisor to APEDB.
