Swachh Bharat: The Andhra Pradesh (AP) government took an innovative idea with an aim to awareness in Students and public about Swachh Bharat. The government is exploring a proposal to allot five extra special marks to students of class 9 and above, who participate in the Swachh Bharat campaign initiative and help the state government build 21 lakh toilets required to achieve 100% Open Defecation Free (ODF) status by March 2019.

Modi government has brought up the Swachh Bharat initiative with a motive of making India to keep the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country as dreamt by Mahatma Gandhi (in simple words, Gandhi dreamt about clean India).

But how many are actually making themselves part if the initiative in cities and towns and rural areas to make it a success? Well, Our government has come up with an innovative idea to impart the need of voluntarily effort with the government to help the system implement the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative at its fullest. AP Govt is proposing to allot special marks to the students who take part in Clean India Campaign.
The Nara Lokesh, minister of rural development, panchayat raj and IT took up the proposal on Thursday at the secretariat. He directed officials of Swachh Andhra Corporation to keep track of students who take part in the Swachh mission.

“We want the students to help us identify the households without toilets and also encourage their parents to build toilets if they don’t have one,” Muralidhar Reddy, managing director of Swachh Andhra Corporation, said Officials are also planning to rope in engineering students to help design the toilets according to an area’s requirement and medical students to help spread awareness about cleanliness.
