The announcement on the sidelines of Blockchain Business Conference in Visakhapatnam, Lokesh said that the firm, known for operating from tier-II cities, was setting up a small unit with 150 employees in a leased premises and has sought land to launch the development centre.

Speaking on the Visakhapatnam Conference minister also revealed that Amaravati would become the first capital in India to have land registry using blockchain technology. It is a secure and smart system for land registrations. “Once implemented, we will have the unique distinction as the first State to have land without any dispute over title deeds,” he said. According to the IT minister, Other IT companies have also shown interest in building their operations from Visakhapatnam. Tirupati is also emerging as electronic manufacturing cluster for cell phones and consumer durables.

The Andhra government had earlier announced that it will create one lakh jobs in information technology and two lakh in electronics by 2019.

Lokesh said the government has already created over 22,000 jobs in IT and around 40,000 in electronics so far. Several top global and domestic companies have set up or announced plans to establish their offices and factories in AP, which is the state government is hard selling as a business and investor-friendly destination.

These include leading financial technology company Rubique, which on Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding with the government to set up its operations in Visakhapatnam’s Fintech Valley.

Lokesh said 200 acres of land has been designated for IT companies in the upcoming greenfield capital city Amaravati.
